On Sunday 23rd August, St Andrew’s Moretonhampstead was delighted to hold the first ‘Celebrating Carnival Service’ for a number of years. Our lovely flower ladies decorated the Carnival Queen’s ‘throne’. During the service, the Queen was seated upon it and along with her attendants, were presented with their sashes. The congregation enjoyed familiar hymns and heard the story of the Good Samaritan, as we reflected on what it means to be a loving community. The service was rounded off with a Cream Tea provided by the Carnival Committee. It was lovely to see so many people from both church and community attend the service.
