Sue Sheppard’s Farewell Gathering

On Trinity Sunday, we said goodbye to our Rector, Sue Sheppard, and her husband Guy, who has not only been her support in ministry but has also been Administrator for our group of four churches. What we owe to their ministry cannot be summed up in a single paragraph, but was given expression at a presentation following a special united group service at St Andrew’s Church in Moreton.

Guy Sheppard speaks at the presentation, with (L-R) Chris Butcher (Manaton warden), Michael Hughes (Lustleigh warden), Sarah Rego (North Bovey warden), Sue Sheppard, Dave Forrest (Moreton Assistant warden), and Bishop Nick McKinnel (Interim Priest-in-charge of the North Dartmoor Parishes).

More photos from the service (and gathering afterwards) when Sue preached on the subject of working together to steer the ‘boat’ that is the churches in our benefice, to keep the turbulence to the minimum, while we await her replacement!

Saying thank you and praying for a happy retirement for Sue and Guy
At the gathering afterwards being embarrased by everyone saying nice things!
One of their gifts, a beautiful photograph taken by Mike Rego,. of Moretonhampstead in the early morning
