On Thursday 16th July 2026, the Year 6 pupils from Chagford Primary School gathered at St Michael the Archangel Church, Chagford, to celebrate their Leavers’ Service.
It was a joyful and memorable occasion, with the pupils leading much of the service themselves. They confidently recited a poem they had been learning, shared treasured memories of their time at the school, and performed songs that reflected their journey through primary education. One particularly moving moment saw a slideshow of photographs accompanied by a song, before the children performed a special song written especially for them, set to the instrumental music from The Little Mermaid.
The service was led with the support of the Right Revd Nick McKinnel, Mr Green, Headteacher of Chagford Primary School, Revd Edwina Fennemore, and Year 6 class teacher Ms Hall, who acted as Master of Ceremonies.
It was a wonderful celebration of the pupils’ achievements and an opportunity for family, friends and the wider school community to wish them every success as they prepare to begin the next stage of their education. We wish each of the Year 6 pupils every blessing and happiness for the future.
